Hyundai Steel’s new steel grade is being featured in the All-New 2021 Hyundai Elantra.
The Hyundai Motor Company’s global bestseller, the ‘All-New Elantra,’ has returned with its newest model in five years. The 7th Generation All-New Elantra boasts a more innovative and sportier design than the 6th Generation Elantra, released in 2016, as well as improved safety features and better mileage, made possible with the vehicle’s new, 3rd generation platform.
The All-New 7th Generation Elantra boasts the latest smart technology safety and comfort features, including the Hyundai Digital Key, Hyundai SmartSense, Hyudan CarPay, voice recognition, car location sharing, wireless software updates, battery monitoring system, and seamless street navigation (used when traveling on foot after getting out of the car). On its first day of pre-sales, the 7th Generation All-New Elantra reached 10,000 contract signees, proving its worth in terms of its outstanding design, performance, and commercial value.
The tremendous popularity of the All-New 2021 Hyundai Elantra can be attributed to Hyundai Steel’s distinguished technology. 70 percent of the All-New Elantra is made of Hyundai Steel’s new steel grade. The new steel 1GPa grade is produced by hot stamping and uses TWB technology, which combines heterogeneous strength and thickness for improved impact resistance. “Hyundai Steel’s new steel grade and technology were applied to the All-New 2021 Hyundai Elantra to further solidify its reputation as a leader in the component market and to improve overall safety. The newly featured steel grade and technologies will be used in future Hyundai vehicle models,” said a Hyundai Steel spokesperson.
