Hyundai Steel has been selected as a Sustainability Charter Member by the World Steel Association (WSA).
The selection is highly meaningful as only 36 steel companies and three associations are selected as Sustainability Charter Members from among the 142 companies and organizations enlisted in the World Steel Association.
Hyundai Steel was recognized for its sustainable management by satisfying 20 criteria based on nine principles, including response to climate change, circular economy, environmental management, safety and health, development of human resources, contribution to local communities, responsible value chains, ethical and transparent operations, and innovation and prosperity.
Charter member selection standards have become even more rigorous recently as the UN sustainability goals have been added to the original seven standards of the World Steel Association.
Hyundai Steel is expected to be recognized once again for its efforts to comply with global standards for sustainable management with its selection as a Sustainability Charter Member.
