On May 21, the Happy Prism family volunteer group from Dangjin Integrated Steelworks planted 20,000 lilyturfs at the Beodeul Waterside Park in Sucheong-dong.
This volunteer project is part of the environmental improvement campaign for the local community and carbon neutrality.
Flowers were planted in Beodeul Waterside Park next to Eoreum Waterside Park, where the family volunteer group planted 10,000 daffodils in 2018.
The family volunteer group consists of about 130 members who used hoes and shovels to plant 10,000 lilyturfs.
“Our family felt joyful to be planting flowers at a park we visit regularly. We hope that more visitors come thanks to our family volunteer group’s work, as lilyturfs blossom in July and August,” said the family of staff member Noh Gi-yoon.
The Happy Prism group was founded in 2013 and has consistently been participating in volunteer projects. It has strived to protect local cultural properties and has taken part in environmental purification activities and campaigns to improve the local environment. The group has also made t-shirts for children overseas and interior design products using recycled materials.
