The volunteer group of the spouses of Dangjin Integrated Steelworks employees donated 1,000 handmade scarves to the Dangjin City Welfare Foundation on March 8.
Hoping to put a smile on the faces of the less fortunate, the volunteers each made the scarves by hand and sewing machine at home, having received all the design specs and materials by mail. The social distancing rules currently in place have not dampened their altruistic spirit at all; the ladies are always coming up with new ideas for contactless volunteer work. This time around, the scarf-making effort was preceded by a safety solution for dementia patients, homemade meals, and helping out in short-handed farming communities.
