Dangjin Steelworks Gifts “Healthy Meals” with Hyundai Steel CEO

On August 14, Dangjin Integrated Steelworks organized a special meal service at the dining hall of Dangjin City Senior Welfare Center.

CEO Seo Gang-hyun joined in to serve meals with the Dangjin Steelworks staff

The special event was organized to coincide with Malbok (August 14), the peak of the summer heat, to provide healthy meals to local residents and welfare staff who use the dining hall at Dangjin City Senior Welfare Center. About 500 servings of chicken, a popular summer health food, watermelon, rice cakes, and beverages were served on the day. Kitchenware and other gifts were also distributed.

Over 20 volunteers including CEO Seo Gang-hyun, Dangjin employees, and members of Majungmul Volunteer Group took part

More than 20 volunteers, including CEO Seo Gang-hyun, Dangjin Steelworks employees, and members of the Majungmul Volunteer Group, which mainly consists of employee spouses, served the meals. Also present were Chairperson of the Dangjin City Welfare Foundation and Director of the Dangjin City Senior Welfare Center.

The volunteers donned aprons, masks, and sanitary caps to serve the meals. They also personally delivered food to tables for those with limited mobility. “As we approach the end of the summer heat, we hope this healthy meal provides a small but meaningful moment of happiness. We will continue to engage in various activities to connect with the local community,” said a Hyundai Steel spokesperson.

Dangjin Integrated Steelworks has been consistently carrying out activities to support local residents facing challenges due to seasonal factors. Last July, it took part in recovery efforts for areas affected by heavy rainfall, including Buyeo and Dangjin Traditional Market in Chungcheongnam-do. Every year, they also deliver health foods, fruits, and daily necessities to local welfare facilities, children, the elderly, and migrants.
