Hyundai Steel has launched the “2024 H CORE Solution Product Development Project Contest” to enhance the competitiveness of its H CORE construction steel brand, discover user-centered ideas for commercialization, and support the advancement of future construction technologies.

Last year, Hyundai Steel held the inaugural H CORE Solution Product Development Contest, aimed at establishing leadership in producing premium steel products for the construction market. This past September, the company hosted a performance review for last year’s contest, presenting 13 achievements and future plans while recognizing top projects for their excellence.

This year’s contest calls for ideas in construction-related applied technologies across the categories of eco-friendly and low-carbon solutions, smart construction, safety, site and social issue resolution, and growth drivers. Targeted product categories include H-beams, rebars, heavy plates, hot- and cold-rolled steel, specialty steel, iron powder, and by-products (slag).

Project proposals are being accepted until October 31. Following the submission deadline, an impartial internal review process will select the final projects, which will be announced on November 22. Eligible participants include architectural and structural design firms, manufacturers, construction-related small and medium enterprises, startups, and consortia of academic, research, and industry associations within the construction sector.
