On July 2, Hyundai Steel signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) at ARTC’s headquarters in Singapore to collaborate on the development of Vision AI1) technology based on Singapore’s open innovation system. This singular system has fostered an ecosystem in which the government, universities, and businesses interact through various channels to identify and co-develop the technologies needed by companies.
Through the collaboration, Hyundai Steel expects to drive innovation in steel manufacturing processes by developing AI models that can be used to detect surface defects on products. This effort will be in partnership with ARTC, which is also collaborating with Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), leveraging Singapore’s unique open innovation system.
The two agencies plan to pool their AI technology capabilities to actively strengthen the development of smart factories.
