“Beyond Steel” Receives Gold Award at the LACP Vision Awards

Hyundai Steel’s integrated report “Beyond Steel 2022” received the Gold Award for the second consecutive year in the Online & Digital Report category at the 2021/22 LACP Vision Awards hosted by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) in the US, which serves as further international recognition of the excellence of the company’s integrated reports.

The LACP Vision Awards, which is marking its 21st year, is an annual and sustainability report competition organized by the LACP, a world-renowned marketing research institute. At the awards ceremony, excellent reports are recognized with Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.

More than 1,000 companies, government agencies, and NGOs from more than 20 countries participated in this year’s competition, and Hyundai Steel was the only Korean steelmaker to win an award.

In 2021, in order to provide stakeholders with easier access to sustainability management information, Hyundai Steel became the first company in the industry to convert its integrated report into a responsive web-based digital format.

In 2022, the company focused on strengthening the stability and readability of its digital reports. Readers can now access the information they want quickly and accurately in an optimized format, not only on the computer, but on mobile phones, tablets, and other digital devices.

At the 2021/22 LACP Vision Awards, Hyundai Steel received recognition for the excellent design and web implementation of its integrated report and earned a perfect score in 6 out of 8 categories―first impression, cover design, message to stakeholders, content composition, financial information, creativity, message clarity, and information accessibility―earning a total of 98 out of 100 points and winning the Gold Award.

Hyundai Steel was also ranked 66th out in the LACP’s “TOP 100 Reports Worldwide.”

“We are delighted that the excellence of our integrated report, which summarizes our ESG activities and achievements, has been recognized not only in Korea but also globally,” said a Hyundai Steel spokesperson. “We will continue to internalize and improve our ESG management and strive to diligently promote Hyundai Steel’s sustainability management activities to stakeholders.”

“Beyond Steel 2022” also received the Grand Prize in the Customer Service (Social Contribution) category at Web Award Korea 2022 hosted by the Korea Internet Professional Association (KIPFA) last December, earning particularly high marks for its visual and UI design and the composition of its contents.
